The Basics of Section Versioning: Check Revision History

Note: This feature is available in the Business plan. Kindly upgrade your current plan to Business plan to use this feature.

Did you accidentally delete a section or delete some block on the page and want to retrieve it?

Do you want to know who made changes to the pricing or delivery timeline in a given proposal?

Do you want to compare and identify why a particular template variation has more acceptance rate than others?

Section revision history can help.

How to access it: Proposal/Template Editor > Sections List > Section Name > Version History

When you update proposal document, you essentially make changes to one or more content blocks in section. The change can be add / delete or modify content block. A linked section when used in multiple proposals or template has a common version tree.

e.g. when a proposal is created using a template, all section in a newly created proposal are linked to corresponding sections in the template. Refer to the logical flow here. This linking exists irrespective of the versioning feature.

When a proposal is duplicated, like mentioned above, both proposals have sections which are linked and have a common version history.

But when you add/create a new section from scratch, its version history will get recorded in a given proposal/template; and whenever this section is used in other proposal, its version history will be available to all relayed proposals and templates.

What kind of changes are saved?

All changes related to the content on the section pages will be saved at a regular interval. There is always one version which is online (available) and it contains the latest saved changes.

What kind of changes are recorded while versioning?

For significant changes to section content create new version automatically. Also minor changes are auto-saved periodically and system creates new version at a regular interval is minor changes are unsaved for more than pre-determined interval.

However keep in mind that Fresh Proposals does not create new section version for every micro change like property change such as color/shadow of the block. It will save such minor changes to the latest version.

How to Access Version History

Open a given proposal/ template in editing mode.

Click on section name or three dots against its name

This would open the Section Details tab on the right side properties panel

Click on Version History

Clicking Section History will enlist versions created so far, for a given section; in a chronological order

Note: If you delete the section in current document and it is the only document where this section was present (not linked to any other section in other proposal or template or section library), you will not be able to access deleted section or use version history to retrieve it.
