Modified on Thu, 1 Sep, 2022 at 5:02 AM

Note: 'Input fields for clients' is available in Professional (erstwhile 'We Can Fly') and onward plans.

There are scenarios when you would like your client, to provide information or ask for explicit confirmation before they can accept your proposal. It means you will need to have a way for your clients to enter that information.

In Fresh Proposals tool you can add multiple types of input fields to your proposal.

1. INPUT TEXTBOX

Where to find it

Proposal/ Template Editor > Input Controls

How to Use it

It is similar to other content blocks like texbox, fees table, content table, image or signature. You can drag-drop the input box to proposal page.

Once it is drag-dropped on the page, and you click on it, you will see its properties in the right side panel, as shown below.

1. You can set the instruction message shown to client

2. You can make it mandatory so that client has to enter the information

3. You can update other properties, change background color, size, etc.

Note: If a proposal which has mandatory field and client attempts to accept it without entering requested details, s/he will be shown warning message to enter the information.

Once added and configured, input field will look like this for your clients

2. TICKBOX/ CHECKBOX

Once it is drag-dropped on the page, and you click on it, you will see its properties in the right side panel, as shown below.

You can place checkbox/ tick-box on a given page, add text around it. You can set properties of the checkbox, like

  1. Size
  2. Background color inside the checkbox
  3. Its border size and color
  4. Mark whether it is mandatory or not.
  5. Corner
  6. Shadow, etc

If you make the checkbox as mandatory, clients will have to tick-through it before accepting/signing the document.

3. Date Picker

Where to find it

Proposal/ Template Editor > Input Controls > Date Picker

How to Use it

Similar to other content blocks like texbox, fees table, content table, image or signature. You can drag-drop the Date Picker to proposal page.

Once it is drag-dropped on the page, and you click on it, you will see its properties in the right side panel, as shown below.

You can place Date Picker on a given page, add text around it. You can set properties of the checkbox, like

  1. Background color inside the date picker
  2. Mark whether it is mandatory or not.
  3. Border
  4. Shadow, etc

Clients will be able to see and use date picker as shown below

If you make the Date Picker as mandatory, client will have to tick-through it before accepting/signing the document.

Assign Input Form to Contact

You can assign input blocks like Textbox, Checkbox and Date picker to specific individual/specific – client contact or a role like default client contact.

Let’s say, you send a proposal to client and included three of its representatives as client-contact. However you want only one of them to enter details in the input textbox or tick-through the checkbox or select date (others may not be decision maker/ or may not have authority). If you want a specific person to take actions on input textbox, tick-through the checkbox or select date, you have to use ‘Assign input block’ functionality.

Considering above example, when this document is sent to ‘Allan Border’ client-contact, only Allan will be able to enter date information to the document; others won’t be able to enter date value.

It is like electronic signature. If a signature is assigned to you, you can sign the document, else you won’t be able to sign it. Similarly, if a input textbox, tickbox or date picker is assigned to you; you will be able to take action/ enter input as shown below;

otherwise you will not be able to enter such details; as you can see for second date picker field (the one against ‘commence workshop’ is not assigned to the current client-contact)
